We acknowledge that assessing and transferring holistic data into flawless marine conservation activities is, at least for the time being, an unrealistic task. Still, we are convinced that recent technological breakthroughs, particularly in the field of responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML), is the missing calatalyst to provide communities and small-scale projects with the necessary means to successfully create a locally-led foundation for sustainable marine conservation. Consequently, Benthos focusses on three fundamental services:

Based on key health indicators specific to the respective marine ecosystems, we use open-source data and affordable technology whenever accessible, while priori-tizing local expertise and commu-nity involvement.

We leverage recent breakthroughs in AI/ML to produce locally rele-vant and interpretable outputs while providing tools to efficiently and collaboratively store, manage, access and link retrieved ecosys-tem data.
Smart Reporting & Strategic Insights
We use ML models to systema-tically simplify the application of ecosystem data, offering custo-mizable reports tailored to the requirements of funding organi-zations, policy advocacy, and strategic conservation planning.
